Do you pick up guests from Cooma?
Yes we do. We have return transfers to and from Cooma for $36 each way. (We are approx. 50km from Cooma). We pickup from the Country-link Coach arriving from Canberra/Sydney at the Cooma Bus stop located in Centennial Park, Cooma, at 6:18pm and drop you back to Cooma to connect with the 10:00am Country-link connection to Canberra/Sydney. You will need to book transfers prior to arrival.

Can I fly to Cooma?
No you can’t. Unfortunately our local airport does no offer flights during our season.

How do I get to Reynella from Sydney?
You will need to book transfers prior to your arrival. Alternately, you can take the Country-link train/coach connection from Sydney to Cooma where we will pick you up. Direct flights to Canberra from most states in Australia.  Qantas fly into Cooma

How do I get to Reynella from Canberra?

How do I get to Reynella from Melbourne?
The best way to get to Reynella from Melbourne is to fly to Canberra and then take the Country-link coach to Cooma.   The V-Line bus service also comes through to Cooma.

What do I need to bring with me?
Alpine weather can change dramatically, so we ask that you be prepared for all conditions.

ESSENTIALS: Woollen jumpers, old jeans / jodhpurs, swimmers, long sleeved shirts, sun block and lip cream, riding boots or flat soled shoes with heels, towel to use whilst camping, Hat with chin strap suitable for sun or rain, torch, sleeping bag or oil skin coat ( can be hired for $45 each ), personal first aid kit. OPTIONAL: Bum bag, gloves, leggings / chaps, pillow to use whilst camping, musical instrument, saddle, BYO alcohol.

How much can I bring?
We ask that you try to keep your luggage as light as possible and have a maximum weight of 10-12kg.

How many people do you take on your horse riding safaris?
We take groups of approximately 16 guests.

Is there a toilet / shower at the camp grounds whilst on safari?
There are toilets at most campgrounds. Shower facilities can be set up on request. Most safaris provide the opportunity to refresh / swim in mountains streams and Tantangara Dam. (No pollution to these areas with soaps etc.)

How far do we ride each day whilst on safari?
You can expect to ride approximately 20km per day and spend at least 5 hours a day in the saddle.

Will I see brumbies whilst on safari?
Whilst we do not guarantee that you will come across brumbies whilst on safari, most guests have the privilege of brumby encounters.

Do I need to be an experienced rider to go on a Reynella horse riding safari?
Reynella caters for all level of rider, from  limited beginner to experienced riders. We have over 50 years experience in catering for all levels and all riders are given plenty of opportunity to ride to their ability.

You can ride to your ability with capability, the safety of the other riders considered and wellbeing of your horse

Do I need to wear a helmet when I go riding?
Unless you are under 18, you will not be required to wear a helmet. You will be asked to sign a waiver if not wearing a helmet.

What do I sleep in at night on safari?
Reynella supplies all weather tents, comfortable mattresses and extra blankets for warmth. You may bring your own swag.

Do I need to pay a deposit when I make a booking?
Yes, for horse riding into Kosciuszko National Park, you will be required to pay a $200 deposit per person

When do I need to pay for my Reynella Horse riding booking?
You will be required to pay your invoice in full 10 working days prior to arrival.

Can I bring my own horse?
No, unfortunately we do not allow you to bring your own horse as the brumbies may try to run off with your horse.

Can I bring my own saddle?
Yes, it is fine if you would like to bring your own stock saddle, we do not allow western style saddles.

Can I bring my swag?
Yes, you are able to bring your own swag.

What time do I need to arrive at Reynella Rides?
You will be required to arrive at Reynella Rides campsite between 5pm and 7pm for dinner, briefing and to get to know the other guests.

Do I need to bring a pillow for camping?
It is a good idea to bring your own pillow for camping, however we do supply pillows for camping upon request.

Do I get a discount if I have been on a safari before?
Yes you do. Return riding guests to Reynella will receive a 10% discount on any further rides.

What is the best time of the year to go horse riding with reynella?
Our horse riding safaris operate from November to the end of April. Each month has its own flavour and you will not be disappointed whenever you choose to join us.

How old do I have to be to go on a safari?
Reynella does not have an age limit, however guests should bet fit and healthy and be able to handle approx. 5 hours a day in the saddle.

Do you have a weight limit for horse riding?
Reynella does not have a weight limit, however guests should bet fit and healthy and be able to handle approx. 5 hours a day in the saddle.

Do I need to wear an oilskin coat?
Yes. As Alpine weather can change dramatically we do require you to either bring or hire an oilskin coat. You may hire an oilskin coat from Reynella for $45 each.

Do I need to bring a sleeping bag for camping?
Yes. If you do not have a sleeping bag we do hire them for $45 per person. We do supply mattresses, tents and extra blankets.

Are sneakers / joggers ok to wear when I go horse riding?
No. You will be required to wear riding boots or flat soled shoes with heels.
